Considering the pace of State Politics in Nigeria, Kogi State in history is recognised to be one among every other component states in the Federal Republic of Nigeria that is mild and facetious in regard to Rulers and Ruled Networking Relationship.
Presently, Kogi State Politics has grown beyond what its known to be in the past. Its socio-political variables in the present pre governorship election portray its pressurizing forces among the domineering socio ethnic groups. - Igala, Ebira and Okun.
So much rhetorical questions has spring up as a logic response to the ongoing Kogi State political horizon. Among them includes?
- Who shall become the next Kogi State Governor?
- From which Tribe and Socio - Ethnic group shall he hail from?
- The minority tribe in Kogi state, are they in support of the quest of the change of mono ethnic politics and the demand for rotation of Governorship power among the only three major ethnic groups?
- If our masses demand are considered, then whose tribe is to become the next flag bearer, is it Ebira or Okun?
- As the Party Decides, What will happen if Political Parties does not choose the masses choice as their soul candidate?
However it's quite noted that the crux of the present status quo in Kogi state politics is attributed to the almighty national question which is one of the present challenging factor in Nigeria Federation, "The domain of majority and the fear of minority."
As Kogi state forthcoming Governorship Election grows more complex we need to revive our consciousness towards manifesting a good and credible governance extremely beyond the actions of sentiments. If really we need a shift in power and governance how can we acquire such quest amidst an ambiguous and dissent interest. Therefore let us not act foolish like a sheep taken to the alter for slaughter. I believe we have come of age, I believe we are wiser than our politicians.
Kogi State is our Nation, Kogi State Our is Pride, no politician should deceit us of it. We shouldn't be lured by any aspirants political interest because none of the present Kogi Governorship Aspirants are worthy to rule over us. Before the Election, they come to us desperately vying for our supports and to seek for our mandates. After the Election they intimidate, discriminate, and chase us away with their oppressive sirens.
We need to be wise!
